CHANGE OF INTEREST....

I love running. But I have never been running as often as I should since after the festive season (Hari Raya). I had taken up cyling instead..... I enrolled at Fitness Zone more than a month ago and had been joining the cycling class almost every day.... sometimes twice per day..... At times, I also included running.... though not as often as I should. The amazing thing I noticed is that my back pain problem (which I had been suffering for years) seems to perish along with my cycling.... GREAT feeling....... I thought, I am going to suffer from it for the rest of my life. Soon, after the BONUS end of this year, I am going to fix my long-abandoned road racing bike .... and starts cycling outdoor to add some variation to my exercise regime.

Announcement to MS's students:
Next year Cycling Club will be officially initiated. Interested students (10 to 15 only) should have all the cycling attires (including a road racing bike).......

TIME.....

Went to the gym and joined the cycling class for one hour (intermediate level). This was then followed by a 30 minutes exercise using the elliptical machine. Wanted to do more but time is not on my side lately especially starting tomorrow for two weeks my invigilation schedule will take most of my time. Wonder how I can fit in my cardio training?

QUICK SPRINT

I went to the gym at 5pm today. Since the cycling class starts at 5.30pm (in which I don't want to miss for the world), I allowed myself a quick 2K sprint and at the end of the sprint I managed to clock 7 minutes and 47 seconds. After the sprint I gave myself a rest to prepare myself for the cycling class. After the one hour session, I wanted to continue another hour but time was not on my side today but on the whole it was an awesome cardio exercise.
BTW, as of today I am lighter by 1kg.....

INTENSE CARDIO

Went to Fitness Zone twice today. In the morning session, I did a 10K run at a time of 50 minutes and 55 seconds. In the afternoon session, I did one hour exercise using the elliptical machine and after that I joined the cycling class for one hour. The cycling class is awesome and so addictive...

FITNESS ZONE

Yesterday, I went to Fitness Zone to enroll myself as a member for 6 months. Yesterday was actually (luckily) the last day of a special promotion, so I was entitled to 90% off of the lifetime membership fee. So instead of paying the normal $500, I only have to pay $50.

To start with, I joined the group cycling class for a duration of full 2 hours. It was something new and fun. If I am committed enough to do the group cycling consistently for 5 times a week, I am sure I can burn all the EXCESS BAGGAGE that I recently gained during the recent festive season.

16K BIKE AND 7K RUN

Went to the gym straight from the school. Did the following and I am so glad that I am more energetic after the workout. Recently, I have been experiencing fatigue and I assumed that it was because of lack of exercise. Today's workout proves my assumption.

  • 16K bike in 30 minutes 17 seconds.
  • 7K run. The following chart speaks.

GOT BORED WITH THE TREADMILL

The plan was to do a 10K run this morning. Somehow, the motivation was not there so I told myself to finish at least 3K. The following chart summarises the run.

After the run I did one hour exercise using the Reebok Body Trec elliptical machine.

I finished my workout cycling for 15 minutes.

CYCLING, MY ALTERNATIVE TO RUNNING

I was looking for something in the store room and the first thing I saw was my BIKE. The last time I rode on it was way back in 2003. Back then, cycling was my an alternative way apart from running, in my quest of getting fit. I think I am going to start again soon (that is, if PERMISSION is granted by my wife). She was and I am sure still is PARANOID about this cycling thing. I know she mean well.
