CALIBRATION WORKOUT

I went to the gym early this morning to calibrate my Nike+ipod running gadget. At the end of the run I found out that the data recorded by the gadget was consistent with those displayed on the screen of the treadmill. So I can conclude that my running times for the past few days are all accurate (I was myself a little bit skeptical actually, hence the calibration workout). For 5K this morning I clocked a comfortable time of:

23 MINUTES 42 SECONDS

Apart from the 5K run I also did some exercise using the elliptical machine for 45 minutes and also some light weight lifting.

MY SECOND BEST 5K

Went to the gym doing exactly what I did two days ago (Friday) the only difference is that I managed to run 5K in 23 minutes 44 seconds (.... this is actually my second personal best for 5K).

SLOWLY PICKING UP THE PACE

Went to the gym this morning and did the following workout:
  • 10 miutes warming up walk at a pace of 6k/hr
  • 30 minutes exercise using the elliptical machine
  • 5K run at 25 minutes 04 seconds
  • 15 minutes bike
  • 25 minutes exercise using the elliptical machine

My nike+ipod functions just fine but I failed to upload any running data recorded in it. It's either the computer or the gadget itself..... well I don't want to bother myself with this matter.....

AS IF RUNNING IS SOMETHING NEW

Went to the gym this morning. The plan was to do some running. I tried but to no avail. It was as if I have never done any running in my life before. So the following summarises what I did this morning:
  • 20 minutes walk at 6km/hr
  • 5 minutes painful run at 9km/hr
  • 30 minutes exercise on the elliptical machine (Body Trec)
  • 10 minutes walk at 6km/hr to 6.5km/hr

Tomorrow is the O level Biology Practical Examination..... I hope all my studnets will do well tomorrow..... My stress level is very high right now preparing for the materials for tomorrow's practical.......

NO RUNNING

I went to the gym this morning with no desire to run at all. So to oxidise the stored energy in my body, I did a 90 minutes exercise using the elliptical machine.

The fasting month could start tomorrow. Happy fasting to all Muslims.

100TH RUN

This morning's run was the 100th run recorded by my Nike+ipod. Well..... actually there were other non-recorded runs when the gadget chose not to COOPERATE with me. The following chart speaks:

The fasting month is in less than one week time. This is usually the month when I gain weight drastically. I think it is because my body's dependence on working out. So, for this year's fasting month I am thinking of doing some light workouts one hour before the break of the fast. Hopefully I can do it............

10K: BETTER PACE BUT TIRING

It was a hectic day yesterday and I was very tired and actually still was this morning. But I owe it to myself because I ate a lot yesterday. Hence today's run, I can consider as an OBLIGATORY (god knows, if this term is of existence) run. The chart speaks:

10K : 53 MINUTES 36 SECONDS

On other matter, HAPPY 7TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY to a fellow running blogger, Rezafaizal. May god bless you and your family. Happy always.

10K AFTER A LONG REST

The last time I ran was last Sunday, four days ago. It does make a difference giving myself a rest from running. As a result, today's run was a comfortable one with only a slight pain on my back. The chart speaks:

SECOND 13K RUN

Today I ensured myself to do lots of stretching before doing my run. And it does work wonder in alleviating my back pain. After the stretching, I did a comfortable 13K run. Initially the intention was to do a 10K run but since by 10K I was still energetic, I ran three more kilometers than my target. By the way, the time was not as good as my first 13K run which I did on the 16th of July. The following chart speaks:

Today's 13K

TIME: 68 MINUTES 54 SECONDS

My First 13K Run

TIME: 68 MINUTES 05 SECONDS

COMFORTABLE 10K

I should give myself a rest today but being a running freak that I am, I forced myself to run no matter what. I came early this morning and with the help of Tony, I did an extensive stretching which in a way helps to alleviate my back pain. Hence, the comfortable 10K run. The chart speaks:

Thursday, August 9, 2007

ANOTHER PAINFUL RUN

Initially it was comfortable but after the 4K mark I started to feel the pain along my spine especially at the lower part of my back. I forced myself to run with the pain but to no avail, I have to stop at the 5K mark. After giving myself a rest, I continued my workout on the Reebok Body Trec Elliptical Machine for 35 minutes.

Hopefully I can do a long run tomorrow.

SIMPLY ELLIPTICAL

My back pain affects my runs lately. For example today, I went to the gym with the intension on doing a long run but I had to stop at 5K because I could not bear the pain. So to compensate the journey to the gym, I did some exercises using the elliptical machine. Here's the summary of today's workout:

  • Technogym Elliptical Machine for 20 minutes (Resistance = 18 to 20/25; Distance = 12K).
  • 5K run. The following chart speaks:

  • Three 20 minutes Reebok Body Trec Elliptical machine (First 20 minutes, Course = Himalayan Trek; Second 20 minutes, Course = Steady Climb; Third 20 minutes, Course = Himalayan Trek). Note: Resistance for each session = 8
